Looking for peace?  I think we all find ourselves in moments where peace seems to be nonexistent.  In those times we would give anything just to have peace in our lives.  How do we find peace when journeying through difficult times?  “The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.”  Psalm 29:11  The Bible tells us that God gives us strength and blesses us with peace, yet we find ourselves looking for peace.  We may need to examine ourselves so here are a couple of thoughts…

The first place we need to look at ourselves is whether we have put our faith in our experiences or in what Jesus did on the Cross.  When we have times where peace is lacking it may be the result of putting our faith in our experience.  Through God’s redemptive power, we are made right with Him.  There is absolutely nothing YOU CAN DO that changes this reality.

“Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.”  Psalm 119:165  There is a saying in the front of my Bible that reads, “This book will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from this book.”  How true I have found that to be in my life.  When God’s Word is in my heart, I have something to use in the battle with the enemy and when I am distant from God’s Word I am many times overcome in the battle.

Are you looking for peace?  Put your faith in the One who can give it to you!
